Glimpses of Ladakh (6 Days)

Day 1: Events at the Indus Valley/ Acclimatization
Your first day in Ladakh comes with acclimatizing your body to this high altitude land. We are glad you have booked your hotel stay with us, as this will be a great way for you to know your hotel. This will leave you with ample time to rest in your hotel room while enjoying the latest shows on a large TV screen or for admiring the 20,000 ft. peaks that surround the Indus Valley Hotel. Stay at the hotel and indulge in experiences like learning how to wrap a dumpling from our chefs or putting a final touch to the pizza going into the wood fired ovens.
Day 2: Leh-Sangam-Aichi-Likir
You can have an easy start to the day with a visit to Alchi Monastery; a monastic complex dating back to the 10th century nestled in the midst of this green village on the bank of Indus River. On the way, you can stop for a picnic at Sangam (The confluence of the Indus and the Zanskar river) with its myriad of colors and beauty. As you drive alongside the Indus River, you can marvel at the high altitude villages of Spituk, Phyang, Nimu, Basgo all the way till Alchi. On your return to Leh, you can venture into the Northern mountain ranges to explore the Monastery of Likir which houses a 50 ft. high statue of Buddha.
Day 3: Leh-Shey-Thiksey-Hemis
On your third day, start with a visit to Shey which is known for its impressive monastery and a stunning palace complex. Next in line is Thiksey Monastery, the largest monastery in central Ladakh. This Tibetan Buddhist monastery sits beautifully atop the hills of Thikshey village. It has 12 stories and 10 temples and houses more than 100 monks. From here we take you to Hemis village, which is famous for its National Park of wildlife.
Day 4: Leh-Pangong
On your fourth day, you visit Pangong Tso, which is a high mountain lake situated 224 Km away from Leh. It means "high grassland lake" in Tibetan language. This lake sits at a height of 4,350 m and is accessible via Chang La, the second highest motor-able road in India. You can choose to stay there for a night under starlit skies in a tent camp or local huts.
Day 5: Pangong-Leh
You will awaken to the heaven-like image of the clear azure lake of PangongTso and its high plateau grassland and get set for an exciting long drive back to Leh after a hearty breakfast. Once we reach back to Leh, you can relax in the comfortable ambience of your hotel room and rest for the night by sitting back with a book to read and a cup of coffee at the bistro or enjoying a game of pool with your family.
Day 6: Leh sightseeing and shopping
You can conclude the package with a day in the city to visit the Leh Palace, a historic royal palace overlooking the town of Leh. The palace is truly an awe-inspiring construction with beautiful architecture. After that you can visit the shimmering white Shanti Stupa, which is dedicated to Buddhism. Next in line is a visit to the Hall of fame a museum dedicated to the Indian Army and a trip into the history of wars in Ladakh. In the evening, you can stop by at the local Tibetan Market to get some souvenirs for your near and dear ones or buy antiques for your home.
